Sensors with analog and RS232 output
for depths of down to 6000m
T, C, O2, pH, Redox
O2 sensor
The O2 sensor for depths of up to 6,000 m consists of a pre-amplifier covered by a titanium housing and a sensitive tip covered by a plastic housing. The complete sensor has been developed for the external interfacing to CTD probe systems and can be used for monitoring or profiling.
Power 9 - 24VDC 20mA Output 0 - 5VDC or +/- 2.5VDC or RS2323 Range 0 -150%
pH sensor
The pH sensor for depths of up to 6,000 m consists of a pre-amplifier covered by a titanium housing and a separate pH and a reference electrode. This complete sensor has been developed for the external interfacing to CTD probe systems and can be used for monitoring or profiling. Differing from the standard single tube design, a separate reference electrode is used with a silver/silver chloride cell in a chloride gel. Contact with the unknown solution is made through a small hole in the tip of the sensor. This minimises and stabilises the potential between electrolyte and sample.
Power 9 - 24VDC 20mA Output 0 - 5 VDC or +/- 2.5VDC or RS232 Range 2 - 12 pH
Conductivity sensor
The conductivity sensor is placed within a special sea-water and pressure (up to 6000m) resistant titanium housing. The system is constructed as a twin cell consisting of seven platinum rings which have been heat-implanted into a quartz glass tube. The central ring is connected with AC-voltage. Conductivity of the water column is determined by the current in the tube at constant measuring voltage. The two outer rings are used for grounding and as a protection against external influences. The small cell volume and the arrangement of the rings leads to a minimum time constant of 50 milliseconds at a flow speed of 1 meter per second as well as a minimum of external influences.A smaller measurement range for limnological applications is available on demand.
Power 9 - 24VDC 25mA Output 0 - 5VDC or +/- 2.5VDC or RS232 Range 0 - 60mS/cm
Temperature sensor
The temperature sensor for depths of up to 6,000 m consists of a pre-amplifier covered by a titanium housing and a platinum resistor of the type Pt 100 is used as temperature sensor. It is installed into a thin case of corrosion-free steel and can be used up to a pressure of up to 600 bar. This type has a time constant of approx. 100 milliseconds and a considerable long-term stability. In order to eliminate the influences of cables and the transfer resistance in the plug connections the sensor is set up as 4-pole.
Power 9 - 24VDC 25mA Output 0 - 5VDC or +/- 2.5VDC or RS232 Range -2 - 35°C
